Fall Update, Events, & Secret Surprise!
I have multiple in-person events this fall! This video is all about how you can find me at these events!
Transcript:
Hi! My name is Lily Meade. I’m the author of THE SHADOW SISTER, publishing with Sourcebooks Fire in Summer 2023. Today I’m here to talk about what I’ve been doing this summer and where you can find me—in person!—this fall!
It’s been a bit quiet on this channel since my book deal announcement this spring, but that’s because I didn’t really have much to report until now. I heard a lot of fun things, but didn’t have the all clear to share them with you until now.
One thing I have been anxious to tell you about for even longer than my announcement is the launch of my Writer’s Shop! On my website, I’ve launched an instant download shop of three different themed Canva Template sets for author promotion and design! I designed them to take all the stress out of creating promo graphics for you, leaving just the fun parts!
At launch, I have the Highlighted Days theme for contemporary and modern romance authors, the Floral Romance theme for fantasy and historical romance authors, and the Haunting Reads theme for paranormal and horror writers. Each theme has five different template sets within: bookmarks, preorder campaign graphics, book tour graphics, social media headers and Instagram highlights, and pull quote, blurbs, and sales graphics.
You can buy them individually to suite your needs or as a complete set at a discount. My financial concerns from last year are still somewhat serious (more on that in a future video), so your support of this shop and my mother’s sewing and embroidery shop are still so valuable to me and my family. I’ll link both in the description below.
Now on to what’s on my schedule for the coming weeks and months ahead!
I have three author events happening this fall! That is so wild for me to be able to say, especially since THE SHADOW SISTER isn’t out until next summer. I am so excited and feel very blessed.
We’ll go in chronological order to make it simple, but stick around to the end, because I have something very special to tell you about that will be happening before ANY of these events!
First off, I will be moderating a Halloween themed YA Fantasy panel at the Barnes & Noble in Tuckwila, Washington on Saturday October 22nd. I don’t have the exact time yet, but the other authors are incredible and I’m so honored to be in their company. Rosiee Thor, Margaret Owen, Rachel Griffin, Julia Ember, and Courtney Gould will be there! What a line up, right? Please follow me on social media for more concrete details about the exact time.
In November, I’m pumped to tell you I’ll be at YallFest in Charleston, South Carolina! I’m going mainly as a fan and to network, so don’t expect me on any panels—BUT I’ve heard some very cool things about a potential Shadow Sister item that may be available at the official Sourcebooks booth. I will be around to sign said item if you want.
Then—also in November, a week or so after YallFest—I will be in Anaheim, California for the NCTE conference and ALAN workshop. If those acronyms are gibberish to you, they stand for the National Council of Teachers of English and the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents. Basically, I’m going to a teacher’s conference and a YA workshop! My publisher is sending me to these events, so if you are attending you will be able to catch me at two confirmed panels and a few other fun things. I’ll have more concrete timing details for these on my social media too.
I am so excited to finally be going to publishing events as a debut author. When I tell people that I’m a writer there, I’ll have a book to point them to!
If you are local to Washington and would like to meet me in Tukwilia on the 22nd, that would be so cool! If you are attending one of the other events, please let me know so we can coordinate something. I’d love to meet you!
If you can’t meet me in person, don’t worry! I have something fun for you too! Before any of my official events, you’ll want to mark off October 16th on your calendar for an online reveal. A cover-shaped reveal, maybe? I’ll have more details on that for you next week.
Thank you so much for watching! If you liked this video, please consider subscribing and giving it a like. Will you be at any of my fall events? Tell me in a comment or tell me what you think my cover might look like! See you soon! Bye.
